What changed on 25 SEP 2026: Account Sync replaces iCloud syncing (Section 2), the new Friends system lets you share parts of your timetable with people you choose (Section 3), and we explain meetup invite cards and invite links (Sections 3.9 and 3.10). Sections 1, 5 and 8 were updated to match.
1. Information Collection and Use / 資料收集與使用 / 信息收集与使用
1.1 The Application may collect the following categories of information:
- Device Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- Pages or screens visited, including time, date, and duration.
- Time spent on the Application.
- Mobile operating system version.
- Username and email address when signing in (for authentication only).
- Your 11-digit UniTable member ID, which is assigned to your account.
- Device identifiers and push notification tokens, used to deliver notifications and to tell your devices apart.
- Subscription status (for example, whether a Premium plan is active), received from our payment service provider. We do not receive your payment card details.
- If you use Friends: your display name, your friend list, friend requests, your sharing settings and the timetable information you choose to share (see Section 3).
1.2 When you import a screenshot or image for timetable analysis, the file will be securely transmitted to a remote server for the sole purpose of extracting timetable data. In order to provide this functionality, the image may be shared with our trusted third-party service provider that processes the data on our behalf. The image and related data will be retained for up to thirty (30) days solely for functionality, quality assurance, and troubleshooting purposes, after which it will be permanently deleted. Such processing and retention are carried out under strict contractual obligations to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and to guarantee that the data is not disclosed or used for any other purpose.
1.3 To deliver reminders and Live Activities, the titles, times and locations of your upcoming classes and exams may be sent to our backend servers as scheduled notification jobs while you are signed in. This happens whether or not Account Sync is turned on, and the jobs are removed when the related item is deleted or the feature is turned off.
1.4 Our backend servers are located in the United States.
2. Account Sync / 帳號同步 / 账号同步
2.1 Account Sync keeps your course and schedule data up to date across the devices where you sign in with the same account. It replaces the earlier iCloud syncing. It is optional and only runs after you turn it on in Settings › Account Sync. On new installations it is off by default.
2.2 When Account Sync is on, the following data is stored on our servers and sent to your other signed-in devices:
- Courses, class schedules and one-off class sessions.
- Assignments, exams and other events, including their titles, dates, locations and notes you type into those items.
- Study dashboard statistics (the days you used UniTable and anonymised keys for classes followed with Live Activities), so that your statistics match on every device.
2.3 Photos, files, audio recordings, PDF documents and other attachments are not synced. They stay on the device where you added them.
2.4 When you change something on one device, our server sends a silent background notification to your other devices so they can fetch the change. These notifications contain no timetable content.
2.5 If the same item is changed on two devices, both versions are kept until you choose which one to keep.
2.6 Turning Account Sync off stops syncing on that device. It does not delete anything from the device or from our servers. Deletions you make while sync is off are applied the next time you turn it back on.
2.7 When you delete a synced item, the deletion is sent to your other devices. On our servers, the item's content is erased. Only a content-free deletion marker (an internal identifier) is kept so that an offline device cannot bring the item back.
2.8 You can import a backup previously stored in your own iCloud Drive onto a device. The import happens on the device. We do not receive your iCloud backups, and no new iCloud backups are created.
3. Friends / 好友 / 好友
3.1 Friends is optional. You can add a friend by entering their member ID, by scanning their QR code, or by opening their invite link. Your friends can see your display name and member ID.
3.2 You decide who can send you friend requests: anyone who knows your member ID, only people who scan your QR code, or no one. QR codes and friend links expire after 15 minutes, and you can reset your QR code at any time so that older codes stop working.
3.3 Nothing from your timetable is shared until you turn sharing on. You choose what your friends can see: nothing, today, this week, your whole timetable or a date range, plus optional deadlines (assignments, exams and other events). You can give each friend different settings.
3.4 When sharing is on, your device prepares a limited copy of your timetable and uploads it to our servers. It covers roughly the past week and the next eight weeks, and it is updated when your schedule changes. It contains only:
- course names and codes, class dates, times and locations; and
- if you share deadlines, the title, date, course and location of each deadline.
It never includes instructor or TA details, the notes you write on courses or deadlines, grades or scores, files, attachments or participants. The server checks your sharing settings on every request and only shows each friend what you allowed.
3.5 If you allow copying, friends can add your shared courses or deadlines to their own timetable. To make this possible, the shared copy also includes each course's weekly schedule and term dates, the short label of any one-off class session, and the checklist items of copyable deadlines. Copies belong to your friends and do not change when you edit yours.
3.6 Viewing a friend's timetable requires a UniTable Premium plan. To enforce this, and to apply friend limits, our server uses your subscription status (Section 1.1).
3.7 You can remove or block a friend at any time. Blocking removes the friendship and cancels pending requests. The blocked person cannot send you requests or see anything you share, and they are not notified.
3.8 If you report a user, we store the reason, any details you write, the reported user's display name and whether you were friends. Reports are reviewed by the UniTable team to keep the community safe. The reported user is not told who reported them.
3.9 Meetup invite cards. A meetup invite card is created on your device. The meetup subject, purpose, location and time are stored inside the card's QR code, and you choose how to share the card (for example, through a messaging app). Anyone who has the card can read these details. When the person you invite adds the meetup to their calendar, the event is created on their device with their permission.
3.10 Invite links. If you open a friend's invite link, we record which invite you used and pair you as friends. To prevent abuse, we store a one-way (hashed) device identifier and check whether you later start a paid subscription, which decides whether the person who invited you earns a reward. The person who invited you does not see your payment details.
3.11 We send notifications when you receive a friend request or when someone accepts yours. You can turn these off in your device settings.
4. Cross-Border Data Transfer / 跨境資料傳輸 / 跨境数据传输
4.1 By using this Application, you acknowledge and consent that your personal data may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States.
4.2 Data protection laws in the United States may differ from those in your country or region of residence.
4.3 We will adopt all reasonable measures to ensure that your data is handled securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
5. User Rights / 使用者權利 / 用户权利
Depending on applicable law in your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- 5.1 Access the personal data we hold about you.
- 5.2 Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- 5.3 Request deletion of your personal data.
- 5.4 Object to or restrict specific data processing activities.
- 5.5 Withdraw your consent at any time, for example by turning off Account Sync or Friends sharing in the Application.

6. Third-Party Access / 第三方存取 / 第三方访问
6.1 Only aggregated and anonymized data may be shared with third-party services to improve the Application.
6.2 Your synced data and shared timetable are never sold and are never used for advertising. Friends only see what your sharing settings allow.
6.3 The Service Provider may disclose user-provided or automatically collected information in the following cases:
- As required by law (e.g., subpoena).
- To protect rights, safety, or respond to lawful requests.
- To trusted service providers operating under confidentiality agreements, such as hosting, push notification delivery (Apple Push Notification service) and subscription management.
7. Opt-Out Rights / 拒絕權利 / 拒绝权利
7.1 You can turn off Account Sync at any time in Settings › Account Sync.
7.2 You can stop sharing with friends by setting your sharing to "Nothing", and you can remove or block any friend.
7.3 You may stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application.
8. Data Retention Policy / 資料保存政策 / 数据保存政策
8.1 The Service Provider will retain your data for as long as you use the Application, and for a reasonable period thereafter.
8.2 Synced data is kept until you delete it or your account is deleted. Deleted items keep only the content-free marker described in Section 2.7.
8.3 Your shared timetable copy is replaced each time your schedule changes, and friends lose access as soon as you stop sharing with them or remove them.
8.4 When your account is deleted, your synced data, friend list, friend requests, sharing settings, shared timetable, blocks and invite records are deleted with it. Reports you submitted about other users may be kept as long as needed for safety and legal purposes.
8.5 You may request deletion by contacting cv@unitableapp.com.
9. Children's Privacy / 兒童隱私 / 儿童隐私
9.1 The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.
9.2 Children should not submit personal data without parental consent. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's use of online services.
9.3 If you believe that a child has submitted personal data, please contact cv@unitableapp.com, and such data will be promptly deleted.
9.4 In certain jurisdictions, you must be at least 16 years old to consent to data processing, or otherwise have parental/guardian consent.
10. Security / 資訊安全 / 信息安全
10.1 The Service Provider implements physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
10.2 All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to synced data and shared timetables requires a signed-in account, and friend access is checked on the server for every request.

11.1 This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically for the latest terms.
11.2 This policy is effective as of 25 SEP 2026. It replaces the version effective 06 SEP 2025.

12.1 By using the Application, you agree to the collection, use, and processing of your data as described in this Privacy Policy. Account Sync and Friends sharing stay off until you turn them on in the Application, and no data is uploaded for them before then.
